Balkanu Cape York Development Corporation is proud to announce that the historic Homestead Guesthouse in Coen is under new management.

Adai Cape York Investments Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of the Cape York Charitable Trust– 100% Cape York Indigenous owned, recently purchased the Guesthouse and has appointed Balkanu to operate the business as a commercial indigenous enterprise.

Greg Pasoe, Dion Creek, Ernest Madua, Andrew Solomon, Beverley Pascoe, Roger Williams, Charlie Mallie, Christo Lifu, Marie Shipton, Regan Hart, Larissa Hale, Gordon Jacko, Gavin Bassini, Charlie Mallie Jnr (observer status) are the regional representatives that make up the Cape York Turtle and Dugong Taskforce. Last week they met in Cairns to share the work they have been doing on their Country to manage traditional turtle and dugong hunting. Next year they will continue to work on the development of locally owned and controlled management of turtle and dugong populations.
